When traveling through Europe, you don’t want to spend more money than you absolutely have to on your travel expenses. You want to get from Point A to Point B for the least amount of money possible. As far as cheap transportation goes, Eurail is definitely the most widely known. But the question to ask is: Is it really worth all the hype?
Reading Eurail pass reviews, the answer seems to be mixed. It tends to depend on where you are going and how many places you are planning on visiting. Travelers seem to get caught up in the idea of having one pass for their whole stay. Even though it can be simpler not having to worry about purchasing individual tickets, sometimes this way can actually be cheaper.
If you buy a Eurail pass for a just a few train rides, chances are you are getting the short end of the stick. Point-to-point tickets are only about $50, so to spend $500 on a pass will not be the wiser choice. So unless you are planning on traveling a lot by train, purchasing individual tickets will probably be the better choice. » Read more: Are Eurail Passes Good Deals?

Europe can be an expensive place to travel. If you are trying to budget travel through Europe it can seem like a difficult. There are, however, some cheap ways to travel Europe. Your biggest travel expense will probably be your flight getting there. Once in Europe, its highly competitive travel market will benefit you.
Europe has many low-cost airlines to fly you within the continent. You can save more the longer in advance you book your flight. These airlines are bare-bones, so you pay for what you get. Some flights don’t even assign seats, so it is a first come first seat basis. Airlines save money by flying to non-major airports and by flying at strange times. So you may end up flying in the middle of the night and landing about 90 km outside of the city you want to be in. Even so, with flights around $20 it is still a great deal and it may also give you the opportunity to explore some of the smaller areas outside of the city you wouldn’t have seen otherwise. » Read more: Cheap Ways to Travel in Europe
