Well, the plane did NOT fall from the sky! I am now breathing much easier now that we are in Las Vegas. The airport is not too crowded and we were able to find our bags quickly so that my husband can get outside to smoke a cigarette. As he smokes on the sidewalk of the terminal, we locate a shuttle station and make arrangements for a ride to our hotel. We were able to purchase two-way tickets so we will not have to worry about making arrangements when it is time to go home, a quick call will be all that is necessary. After my husband is feeling better, with the proper amount of nicotine in his system, we board the shuttle a wait until time to go. Ten minutes later we arrive at the Las Vegas Hilton, it is too early to check in, but we check our bags so that we can begin our adventure!

 

11:00 am

 

As we made our first jaunt onto the strip, we quickly realized we had made another mistake!! With my husband wearing his colts cap, and me making eye contact with the people we pass, we are quickly recognized as the “newly arrived tourists” that we are, and are bombarded by salesmen trying to rope us into signing up to tour new hotels for a chance at discount tickets to shows. It doesn’t take us long to recognize them and steer clear! We only have a week; we don’t want to waste time with salesmen!

 

The strip isn’t too crowded on a Wednesday morning, so we are able to make good time and are quickly in the thick of it and touring hotel lobbies! It is 104 degrees here and I feel like I am in heaven! I am almost always cold, so for the first time I feel truly warm without being dressed like an Eskimo out on a fishing trip! My husband isn’t quite as thrilled with the heat, but as it isn’t humid he isn’t complaining too loudly! What a sight, for a Midwest girl!!
